NEW MUSIC: Smiler ft Lana Del Rey – Big Spender
Check out Smilers new single ft Lana Del Rey. I’ve heard this track a while ago but it just had the sample on it, Smiler got Lana to lay the vocals on this, sounds much better.

NEW MUSIC: iAm1 – Lie Low
I first heard about this duo iAm1 (Jamie Wallace & Oli Rose) about a month ago when they posted a song up on Soundcloud called ‘Concrete’, can’t quite put them in a box & label them by genre which isn’t a bad thing….they’re kind of on a trip hop/soul vibe, the music is great though.
Check out iAm1′s new single ‘Lie Low’ below…they also have another song called ‘Watching’ which is my favourite, I posted the video below.

NEW SIGNING: Sasha Keable Signs To Polydor
This is Sasha Keable (@sashakeable) , she’s a 17 year old signer/songwriter form the SE London….signed at Disturbing London for management & more recently Polydor for records. I had a chance to check out a lot of the early music mid let year on the myspace (old school I know) but the music is sounding amazing, the voice incredible. Her style is said to be a ‘Trip Hop/Soul/Pop’ vibe, definitely worth checking out her more recent stuff on her Soundcloud. Keep an eye out for her. Oh & she’s a former Brit School student.
NEW ARTIST: Mahalia (@MahaliaMusic)
Everybody meet Mahalia….So as I said before I was down at The Monarch earlier this week at Milly’s World (Shout out to Milly) and the young lady that really stole the show was a 13 year old called Mahalia, every A&R man/woman was down there to see her play….as they should have been! I was blown away by her, she has a great song called ‘Let The World See The Light’ which i can’t stop listening to.

I came across this new tune the other day, it samples ‘Shook Ones’ by Mobb Deep. I always think it’s a bit corny when people try and do this but Phlo gave this justice. As far as I know currently unsigned for records & publishing

I’ve been listening to this mixtape for the past few months and then finally got a chance to see Ash live at Milly’s world in Camden where he just tore the roof off the building. The whole mix tape is a banger, definitely one to keep in the car.

ABOUT TO BLOW: Angel (@ThisIsAngel)
So for anyone in the UK music industry especially amongst the urban music community, if you don’t know Angel…then get to know. He’s a super talented singer/songwriter/producer. I was literally blown away when I first heard some of the early music he was working on, especially when I heard that he had written & produced everything himself which a lot of artists don’t do these days but he’s very hands on with everything and is currently writing hits for a lot of other artists. Cuts include Roll Deep, Pixie Lott, Wretch 32, list goes on for time. Arguably one of the best songwriters in the UK right now
He’s currently signed at Island Records and is expected to release an album some point next year. To give everyone just a little taste of what Angel is really about, pick up his EP….its called 7 Minutes Before Time. Click HERE to download

NEW MUSIC: The Bullitts – Supercool
Came across a new tune today by The Bullitts (Jeymes Samuels), I had the chance to check him out live at The Big Chill festival earlier this year….I thought I was dreaming when I actually saw Lucy Liu walk out on stage performing with a live band along producer Jeymes Samuels…..And then Idris Elba walked out as well! I posted a video of that performance below courtesy of @TheBluMile . Track is big
READY TO BLOW: Josh Kumra
This is Josh Kumra. People best know him for featuring on Wretch 32′s single ‘Don’t Go’. He’s an up and coming singer/songwriter who I think is gona start making some real waves next year, he’s playing a lot of the live dates with Wretch…The Mobo’s, Jools Holland…the works! He’s also under the same management umbrella…Levels Entertainment but is still free to sign to any record label he wants, last I heard he had a couple of offers on the table. He has a really soulful voice…he kind of reminds me of a young James Morrison?…maybe not as pop as James though. Josh is also part of a duo called Kicaberry with Carra Bacon. INTRODUCING: Project Alfie
I got the chance to go down to Showcase Live a few weeks ago and one of the stand out acts for me was Project Alfie. He’s an unsigned act managed by 21st Artists with huge potential….he really reminds me of a modern Donny Hathaway, great voice…not sure if thats what he was going for but thats just my thoughts? Check his track out here, its called ‘Beggin’. He’s currently working towards doing a mixtape which I’m definitely going to keep an eye out for
